The reconstruction of the famous, over 100 year old Spa park, also included a partial programme of modernisation in accordance with today‘s needs. The Spa park originally included a cultural building – Kurhaus, which represented a centre of cultural and sporting activities in Bled at the time.
Kurhaus was pulled down after WW2, which is why the park lost it‘s complexity and original purpose of use, whilst the project of park itself was preserved quite well right up to the present day.
It is a matter of compromise, for the park is historically protected; this is why we preserved the original project and tactfully added new program accents that have been incorporated in a space and program point of view into the original design.
Numerous program groups are set on the reconstructed project: the botanical gardens, performance areas beside the new pavilion, a children‘s playground and an area for the annual sculptural workshop.
